“In the West, we start speeches with a joke; in the East, we start speeches with an apology. As I start this speech, I want to apologize that I don’t have a joke.” That’s the line I borrowed to begin my talk to a very international audience from 52 countries. Ninety nine lead pastors, graduates of
RREACH’s Global Proclamation Academy, took center-stage at a 500-strong banquet audience, to launch our next-decade, human capital campaign.
At the climax of ten days of praying, preaching, and planning (and some playing), 99 pastors publicly repeated the Global Proclamation Covenant (see next page) after me in that sacred setting. The audience exploded in a standing ovation, in recognition of these front-line heroes of the faith who had personally signed the G-ProCovenant the previous day in a tear-filled final session. Their applause also recognized that this vision will likely cost all of us the rest of our lives, and may cost some of us our very lives.
These on-site leaders of Christianity’s future have committed to serve as the human infrastructure needed to implement our Global Proclamation Commission (see page 8 for next steps). What is this G-ProCommission?
Vision: to exponentially improve the quality of the proclamation of God’s Word and the perception of the Lord Jesus Christ resulting in the perpetuation of spiritual health worldwide.
Mission: to connect, unite, and strengthen large numbers of fine, young, lead pastors worldwide into a Global Proclamation Community to fulfill Christ’s Commission.
Anticipated Outcome: 100,000 connected, united, strengthened pastors from 200 countries into 4,000 (or more) cohorts of 25 pastors each by 2020.
Estimated Cost: looking back from 2020 is $315 a pastor; or $7,875 for a cohort of 25 pastors.
While we can’t easily recapture the spectacular events of those ten marvelous days, we have prepared this special edition as an invitation to vicariously experience the mystery of this strategic reunion. It is also an invitation to join us on the journey of the next 4,000 days with prayers, thoughts, voices, and gifts.
