Prayer Updates
New opportunities | August 8, 2019
Dear praying friends,
In brief:
Praise God for time Dr. Richard and Bonnie recently spent with family.
Pray for a “mainstream” publisher for Dr. Richard’s new book.
Praise God for good progress toward a regional congress for pastoral trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Pray for a special visa for Dr. Richard to minister in a closed country.
The bigger picture:
After the busyness of the Dallas Global Proclamation Academy and intensity of teaching a two-week theology institute for CRU staff, Dr. Richard was glad to spend a few days with kids and in South Carolina. Praise God for such times of refreshing.
Dr. Richard is looking for a publisher for a new book he has written. Please pray for God to open up a major Christian publisher with a vision for ministry.
Contracts have been signed and teams are coming together to hold the late-2020 Global Proclamation Congress for Trainers of Pastors in Latin America and the Caribbean! Praise God! Pray for God’s total protection, global provision and manifest presence in the areas of recruitment, program planning, fund development and follow-up preparation.
Dr. Richard has been invited to speak to a significant audience in a closed country this fall. Please intercede for God’s hand on those presenting his special visa application, favor from the officials and rapid turnaround time.
Thank you for praying!

Dear praying friends,
What a month it has been—the 2019 Dallas GProAcademy! Just two months ago, we were praying as a staff for 25/50/250/2.5 in 2019—25 pastoral leaders in June, 50 occupied hotel rooms and 250 banquet guests.
God exceeded them all.
God overcame (we could not) the complexities of current global realities and brought 28 pastoral leaders from 28 countries for one of the “sweetest” annual Dallas GPA classes. They were sweet in the spiritual sense of the term, and literally, too. They learned and taught, sang and prayed, ate and played, for a lifetime memory. They also liked ice cream!
Please let us know if you would like a private copy of their amazing, one-page bios. You will be thrilled to learn about them, and pray for them, perhaps, for one a day over the next month. Did you know that we intentionally keep them connected over the following years?
Also, God brought in 51 nights of guests and a waiting list for the 250 seats at the banquet. I am told that God used my graduation charge that night in a fruitful way. While I have not heard the talk yet, please feel free to listen to it here. I hope it charges you to service, too.
Our Albania pastor noted, “I have many materials to share with pastors, but I have never had a method before. You have given me a weapon.” Others spoke about the dignity they experienced and the trust they are able to again give to other pastoral leaders. All of them spoke of the incredible personal hospitality and logistical efficiencies our staff extended to them.
Finally, all pastors have returned to their ministries. Did you know that we have a wonderful record of a 100% return to their homelands? No one has absconded while under God’s care with us.
And the 2.5? It stands for the just under $2.5m we seek to raise in 2019 for RREACH ministry. Thank you very much for helping me proclaim God’s Word, even as RREACH amplifies the proclamation globally and multiplies the proclamation locally. Thank you so very much!

In his words: Ramesh Richard June update | June 27, 2019
Dear praying friends,
A full month it was, celebrating graduations, birthdays and anniversaries and traveling across continents…all because of you! God makes it possible through your praying.
From the faculty section at Dallas Seminary’s graduation, I tweeted, “Dallas Theological Seminary 2019 Graduation vignette: reminder of experience 40 years ago! My 1979 class reunion revealed many deceased, most retired, the rest serving God, with some still in missions in the U.S.A. and abroad. Until we no longer can, we shall.” Teaching at DTS is something specific and strategic I do for the U.S.A., contributing here even as I do elsewhere.
Elsewhere, I addressed a “sold-out” leadership forum of 125 leaders for three days in Albania, the world’s first officially atheistic state. The highlight was reaching 100 guests. A dozen professed decisions for the Lord Jesus. Christ’s Church prevails!
I rushed to beautiful Rwanda via Istanbul, with a 6 ½ hour wait in the world’s largest and newest airport, a witness to the greatness of humanity. I encountered the awfulness of humanity, however, in Kigali at the 25th remembrance season of the 1 million people, 100-day genocide. I proclaimed God’s Word to 200 opinion leaders, 500 pastoral leaders, 175 pastoral trainers and 200 university students over four days.
After an eight-hour overnight wait in Doha, I traveled back home on my 66th birthday. Since the Middle East is eight hours ahead, I turned it into the longest birthday of my life! If you have other secrets to extending hours and days and years, let me know. For Bonnie’s birthday, we visited our grandchildren and their parents in Greenville, S.C., along with a quick trip to Charleston. It was also the wedding anniversary month of Bonnie’s and my parents and of our oldest son, Ryan, and his wife, Chelsie. I praise God for my family—past, present and future.
We have been in full-throttle with the 2019 Dallas Global Proclamation Academy. Pray for a memorable finish (including my graduation talk)! God has already done mighty things and we look forward to updating you more in days to come. The important thing now is to say thank you for helping make this global proclamation ministry possible.
