Only God

RREACH’s first operational value is “Only God.” One way we recognize and live our dependence on Him is by beginning, covering and ending every aspect of ministry in prayer, with thanksgiving.
Dr. Richard says, “Prayer precedes ministry,” and as the Lord continues to open doors for his ministry, we realize afresh the need for prayer.
Please take a moment to pray and praise over the updates on this page, featuring a daily prayer calendar at the beginning of each month. Also let us know how we can pray for you!

Prayer Updates

Accomplishing His assigned purposes | September 6, 2018

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

Praise God for using Dr. Richard’s ministry in Costa Rica to profoundly change lives!

Pray for Dr. Richard’s upcoming ministry engagements and for wisdom for future opportunities.

Pray for an upcoming meeting of proclamation associates in Dallas this fall.

Rejoice and pray for about 35 young pastors gathering for a national Global Proclamation Academy (GPA) in a restricted Asian country.

The bigger picture:

The Lord Jesus touched many lives through Dr. Ramesh Richard in Costa Rica last week. Praise Him! Two pre-evangelistic events, a two-day national preaching conference, a meeting of Christian leaders and a Sunday service, in addition to connecting with a number of individuals, filled his five days there. He sensed the support of our prayers.

Please pray for those who made decisions to embrace the Lord Jesus, for the local pastors and believers following up with them, and for the 90-plus pastors who attended the national preaching conference, organized by Pastor M, a Dallas GPA 2012 grad, who holds the RREACH Chair of Biblical Preaching and Pastoral Ministries at ESEPA, a major seminary in Costa Rica.

Dr. Richard has two lengthy international trips, a number of U.S.-based engagements, and multiple key meetings over the coming months. Please pray for the Lord’s hand to be on him and on all the preparations for these events. Pray that He will use Dr. Richard fully to accomplish His assigned purposes.

One upcoming event needing specific intercession is a gathering of proclamation associates in Dallas. Pray for their visas and for resources for this strategic next step in RREACH’s ministry.

GPA Central African Republic, held in that economically difficult country, wrapped up last week. This week a GPA begins in an undisclosed Asian country. Please ask for God’s protection and power over those who have gone back to daily ministry, and over the group gathering now. These national GPAs and other training initiatives are only as effective as their ongoing benefit to the pastors and their ministries. Pray that the Lord will direct and empower us to follow up effectively.

Action in South, Central and North America, Africa and more | August 24, 2018

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

Pray for Global Proclamation Academy (GPA) Republic of Congo graduates as they return home, GPA Ecuador’s graduation this weekend, and GPA Central African Republic delegates arriving this week.

Praise God for Dr. Richard and Bonnie’s time away with all their kids and grandkids.

Pray for Dr. Richard’s upcoming evangelistic outreach and pastoral training trip to Costa Rica.

Praise God for the growth of GProLearning.org; pray for more capacity to evaluate additional pastoral training materials.

Pray for production and distribution of Dr. Richard’s talks and writing projects.

The bigger picture:

Dr. Richard (taking the picture) enjoyed playing chess with granddaughter Emma and new daughter-in-law Chelsie when the whole family got together recently.

GPA Republic of Congo graduates returned to the demands of daily ministry and home life last weekend. GPA Ecuador delegates expect to graduate and return home this weekend. GPA Central African Republic welcomes delegates this week. Please pray for the young pastors in each of these stages. Pray that what they have learned/will learn and the relationships they have developed/will develop at their national GPA will strengthen them abundantly for the work to which God has called them.

Dr. Richard and Bonnie were able to take some time away in South Carolina with all their kids and grandkids recently. Praise God for this and pray that the Richard family will continue to grow in the love and nurture of the Lord Jesus.

Dr. Richard’s upcoming trip to Costa Rica includes pre-evangelistic engagements, their first national preaching conference, and a Sunday morning service. Intercede for those preparing for all these events, for many to attend, and for Dr. Richard to be greatly used of the Lord.

We’re thankful for all the hard work that has gone into selecting biblically-based pastoral training materials for GProLearning.org. The site now features more than 9,000 items in more than 31 languages. Please pray for more people to help with the intensive vetting process and for these materials to significantly help wherever pastoral training is taking place.

Praise God for recent momentum in producing and distributing Dr. Richard’s writings and talks. Intercede for this process and for the material to bless many.

More, better and lasting fruit | August 16, 2018

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

Pray for production of Dr. Richard’s new short evangelistic videos.

Praise God for sustaining Dr. Richard through some demanding weeks of speaking, filming and considering RREACH’s future.

National Global Proclamation Academy (GPA) action is high: pray for GPAs in Republic of Congo (in process), Ecuador (starting today), and Central African Republic (to begin in a week).

Please lift up pastors and pastoral trainers serving in areas of natural or man-made turbulence.

The bigger picture:

Pastor T, Dallas GPA 2018, meets with other Cameroonian pastors about escalating conflict in the country. (Note: He is carrying the RREACH water bottle he received at the GPA.) Because of direct threats, Pastor T had to move his family away from their home after he returned from the Dallas GPA. They pray it is a temporary move. This is one glimpse of how your prayers and encouragement of Dr. Ramesh Richard and RREACH are affecting the world. Thank you.

Last week Dr. Richard had two recording sessions, one for LifeRocks evangelistic talks and one for PASTORREACH, an upcoming project addressing questions sent in by pastoral leaders. Praise God for the time he had to prepare for these and for the sessions running well. Pray for good production of the videos and that new elements of LifeRocks will increase people’s exposure to the Lord Jesus, especially in otherwise unreachable socio-economic tiers and geographical areas.

Also praise God for the direction prepared as RREACH board members recently discussed ministry succession. Please pray that this will enable Dr. Richard and RREACH, as the Lord Jesus charged His followers, to “go and bear” more, better and lasting fruit (John 15:16).

Twenty-five young pastors gathered last week for GPA Republic of [perennially troubled] Congo. The Lord willing, they will graduate late this week.

GPA Ecuador is kicking off today and GPA Central African Republic next Thursday. Other national GPAs planned for this fall include Hungary, an undisclosed Asian country, Chile, The Gambia, Guyana, Bolivia and the Solomon Islands. Intercede for attendees to learn and connect well and for God’s protection over all involved; the spiritual warfare can be intense.

Please remember all pastors and pastoral trainers around the world who serve in difficult—even humanly impossible—circumstances. Ask the Lord Jesus to favor them with joy, courage, strength and a sense of His powerful and shielding presence.

Thank you for praying!

More proclaiming and strengthening proclaimers | August 10, 2018

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

Please pray for Dr. Richard’s creativity, capacity and Christ-likeness as opportunities arise to proclaim the Lord Jesus.

Pray for the Lord Jesus’ clear direction regarding a trip to minister in Venezuela.

Give thanks for how God is strengthening GProCommission efforts to connect and resource pastoral trainers.

GPA Republic of Congo has started! Pray for them and for upcoming national GPAs planned for Ecuador, Central African Republic, Hungary and a closed country.

The bigger picture:

Dr. Richard speaking at Upendo Baptist Church's 20th anniversary in Dallas

The Lord Jesus continues to answer our prayer for openings for Dr. Richard to proclaim Him. On a recent trip, his outbound seatmate had just lost her grandmother and her mother was dying of cancer. He talked and prayed with her. On his return trip, the same woman was again his seatmate! The Lord again allowed him to minister to her. Pray that this woman and others whom Dr. Richard has introduced to the Lord Jesus will receive His new life.

Also please continue to ask the Lord’s direction regarding a potential Venezuela trip. In God’s providence, the applied-for visa has still not been granted and plans are on hold. Intercede for the pastors ministering amid many difficulties there and for the Lord to protect Dr. Richard’s passport.

Uphold the GProCommission team and everyone involved in efforts to strengthen pastoral trainers and multiply pastors. We engage in strategic follow-up action after every Dallas and national GPA and are maintaining follow-up from the GProCongress for Pastoral Trainers. The work is intensive. Please ask the Lord’s provision in human, financial and technical resources and wise implementation of those resources.

Praise God for the pastors gathered for GPA Republic of Congo! Pray for them to be especially connected, united and strengthened. Pray, too, for upcoming GPAs in Ecuador, Central African Republic, Hungary and a closed country.

In his words: Ramesh Richard August update | August 3, 2018

Dear praying friends,

Any time I get to personally deliver God’s Word, whether in evangelism or edification, with a few or many, I live out what God has made, gifted, called and placed me to do. That’s why RREACH began and exists. Thank you for prayerfully supporting this proclamation ministry.

Barely had the Dallas GPA ended when I rushed off to Rochester, New York. In addition to the cooler weather away from a “blazin’ Texas,” it was a delight to deliver God’s Word to 600+ Bhutanese-Nepalese. Kicked out of Bhutan, they lived as refugees for 20 years in Nepal.

I got to challenge them to spiritual and moral commitments. Dozens responded to the invitation to re-start their spiritual life!

Then I touched Syracuse, where my father breathed his last only five months prior, and preached where my brother-in-law and sister serve. In February, I had to speak there the very day after he died. As difficult as it was, a dozen or so came to Christ. This time, many committed to living a life of surrender and abandonment to Christ and His cause.

Two international events fulfilled the multiplication side of this global proclamation ministry. Twenty-five pastoral leaders attended GPA Grenada, a small “isle of spice where everyone is nice” in the lower West Indies. I got to address the GPA graduation, joint Sunday services, a pastors gathering, their Prime Minister’s cabinet, and a pre-evangelistic outreach dinner. Half of the 80 guests were unbelievers and five men (men alone!), indicated a profession of faith.

Women’s GPAs are filled pastors’ wives and women who primarily teach women. At the end of each GPA, I “charge” them into the Gospel ministry by video or phone call. It was thrilling to get photos of WGPA Nigeria, of both prayer time and play time—women’s soccer! I don’t think these wives and mothers have played anything for a long time!

Thanks for making it possible to do what is humanly impossible, in ability or resources. You help us reverse the eternal destinies of large numbers of desperate individuals worldwide! You are a blessing to me and RREACH.
