Only God

RREACH’s first operational value is “Only God.” One way we recognize and live our dependence on Him is by beginning, covering and ending every aspect of ministry in prayer, with thanksgiving.
Dr. Richard says, “Prayer precedes ministry,” and as the Lord continues to open doors for his ministry, we realize afresh the need for prayer.
Please take a moment to pray and praise over the updates on this page, featuring a daily prayer calendar at the beginning of each month. Also let us know how we can pray for you!

Prayer Updates

2014 Dallas GPA update | February 19, 2014

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying for the 2014 Dallas GPA. Here are some updates since our last post.

Togo

Pastor K from Togo was granted a visa but not for the relevant dates. He returned it and they told him to come on Feb 21 to pick it up. Please pray that he receives his visa for the correct dates with no trouble.

Please pray for pastors who have secured their visas as they work toward raising half of their airfare to Dallas.

Also begin praying for their families and congregations, who will be preparing to be without these men for three weeks in June.

Pray for favor for these upcoming visa appointments:

Today: Pastor J from Mozambique

Feb. 27: Pastor D from Fiji

March 3: Pastor A from Burkina Faso

March 3: Pastor V from Liberia

March 4: Pastor P from Myanmar

Please pray for more eligible candidates to apply. We now have 22 candidates who have been accepted, after one pastor who was accepted alerted us that he is not able to come. Pray that the Lord would send the right 25 pastors.

Please pray for the RREACH staff to work with excellence in every detail to make the 2014 Dallas GPA a wonderful and God-honoring experience for everyone involved.

For His glory,

Edie Ross

Praising the Lord in Tanzania and Cambodia | February 13, 2014

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying for the upcoming Dallas GPA and specifically for the candidate selection process. We received word that Pastor S. from Tanzania and Pastor S. from Cambodia received their visas!

I am exceedingly glad for I have passed the visa interview...Please pass on my gratitude to everyone who has prayed for the process.

- Pastor S., Tanzania

We now have eight pastors who have obtained their visas. Twenty-three total have been accepted to the 2014 Dallas GPA, including five from countries not previously represented at a Dallas GPA (Bhutan, Angola, Gambia, Nicaragua and Cambodia.) Please join us in praising the Lord for His provision.

Dr. Richard teaching during the 2013 Dallas GPA.

Also, please lift up the following requests:

Pray for pastors who have secured their visas as they work toward raising half of their airfare to Dallas (RREACH takes care of the other half of their air travel and all of their needs while in Dallas.) For some, the cost of half of their airfare is equal to several months' wages.

Pastor K from Togo was scheduled to have his visa appointment yesterday. Pray for a favorable outcome.

Pray for favor for these upcoming visa appointments:

Feb. 13: Pastor F from Mexico (UPDATE: His visa was granted! Thank you for praying!)

Feb. 19: Pastor J from Mozambique

Feb. 27: Pastor D from Fiji

March 3: Pastor A from Burkina Faso

And finally, please pray for the RREACH and GPA staff as we work to raise the budget for the Dallas GPA, handle logistical details related to putting together a three-week effort to connect, unite and strengthen international pastors and work through the application/acceptance process with pastors from around the world.

"The Lord humbled me this morning..." | January 31, 2014

Dear friends,

Today RREACH  received news that we couldn't wait to share with you!

The office has been in prayer for Pastor J. from Zimbabwe, who has been accepted to the 2014 Dallas GPA and was trying to secure a U.S. visa.

A fine young pastor, Pastor J. was accepted to the 2013 Dallas GPA, but was denied twice by the U.S. Embassy in his application for a U.S. visa and was unable to come.

Once a person is denied for a visa, it is very difficult to be approved to receive one. Today we received news that Pastor J.'s visa application was approved! His email alerting us of this news began this way:

The Lord humbled me this morning. I got the US visa. He showed me His kindness, mercy and love. I am so full of praise of Him at the moment. I cannot stop to say, Thank You Lord.

Please join us in praising God for this astounding turn of events. Also, please be in prayer for the other 15 pastors who have been accepted to the Dallas GPA. Four others have secured visas.

Specifically pray:

That visa appointments would be scheduled soon, and the Lord would grant success in these applications.

For the selection of at least an additional 10 pastors, especially those representing countries that have not yet been represented at the Dallas GPA.

For pastors' efforts to raise their half of the airfare to Dallas.

Greetings from Cuba | January 24, 2014

Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying for Dr. Richard's trip to the Dominican Republic and Cuba. We can't wait to give you a full update on the trip, but for now we want to share this video greeting and short note from Dr. Richard.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xbnW2B5SQA&feature=youtu.be]

Greetings from Cuba--a country of mystery and history--where history got stuck, but life and time have not.

Over 300 pastors and wives packed out one of their larger churches for five days of training and encouragement.

The opening ceremony--the grandest I have experienced--had a live bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace, a full youth orchestra, and a kids' dance troupe.

They remain under deprived conditions, but were remarkable in humble and courageous dedication to their Lord Jesus. They are convinced this is "God's time for Cuba. Our population is decreasing, but His Church is growing. We need you," they repeated.

Enjoy a lovely background from atop the "prayer porch" of a local seminary-host.  Thanks for your goodwill toward this ministry.

Warmly,

ramesh

Hitting the ground running in 2014 | January 15, 2014

Dear friends,

Thank you for your prayer partnership with Dr. Richard and RREACH. Just 15 days into the new year and the RREACH offices are buzzing with activity. Please join us in praying for the following requests:

1. Dominican Republic/Cuba trip:

Please pray for Dr. Richard and RREACH staff as they travel to the Dominican Republic today, where GPA Dominican Republic is happening now.

Pray for Dr. Richard as he travels to Cuba and speaks at a pastors conference there. Pray that those attending will arrive safely and that the conference is encouraging for them.

Pray for GPA Dominican Republic and the 25 pastors attending it. Pray for Dr. Richard and other master coaches as they teach and for the delegates to be strengthened and connected to one another.

2. Global Pastoral Trainers Congress:

Join us in praising the Lord for overwhelming encouragement from other pastoral trainers around the world as Dr. Richard continues to seek God's wisdom on the location of the 2016 Congress after Manila, Philippines had to withdraw because of the November super-typhoon.

Multiple viable location possibilities have been suggested, so please continue to pray for wisdom, discernment and humility as a decision is made.

3. 2014 Media Outreach:

Praise God for the early response we are getting to Dr. Richard's 2014 State of Humanity address "LifeSaveyour." Since Jan. 1, 850,000-plus people have been exposed to the content on Facebook and 24,844 have "liked" it.

Just over 10,000 people have visited our program-specific web site (www.LifeRocks.org), 591 have indicated that they have prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to be their Savior and 120 have entered into follow-up e-mail conversations with worldview-trained evangelists. We hope you'll visit the site and share it with your friends!

Please continue to pray that the lost would come to know the Lord Jesus through our LifeRocks Facebook page and web site.

4. Upcoming DTS chapel:

Finally, please pray for Dr. Richard as he delivers the chapel address at Dallas Theological Seminary on January 28. Pray that Dr. Richard would be well-rested after quite a bit of international travel this month and that God would use his words to encourage students, faculty and guests attending.

If you are in the Dallas area and would like to attend a luncheon following the chapel, please email me at edie@rreach.org by Jan. 20. We'd love to see you and update you on what RREACH is looking forward to this year.
