Prayer Updates
Is it June yet? 2014 Dallas GPA planning underway | October 9, 2013
Dear friends,
Please join us in prayer for the 2014 Dallas GPA, scheduled for June 8-28, 2014 on the campus of Dallas Theological Seminary.
There may be several months separating us from the actual event, but planning already is underway. (Read more about the Dallas GPA below and see what GPA graduates have to say about their experience).
Please specifically pray:
For God's wisdom in the selection process. More than 45 men have been nominated, and RREACH has received nine completed applications. Four of the applicants are pastors who were accepted to the 2013 Dallas GPA, but were unable to attend. Those pastors have been tentatively accepted to the 2014 Dallas GPA on the basis that they still meet eligibility requirements.
For availability and willingness of those who have been invited to serve as Master Coaches, including current and former deans and presidents of evangelical seminaries from around the country and world.
For favor as RREACH invites individuals and churches to partner with us - by giving of their resources, their talents and their time - for the 2014 Dallas GPA.
For unity and great communication among RREACH staff as planning for the 2014 Dallas GPA ramps up.
That the 2014 Dallas GPA would be excellent in every detail, to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
For His glory,
Edie Ross

The Dallas Global Proclamation Academy was piloted in 2005 on the campus of Dallas Theological Seminary. The academy brings together 25 to 27 of the world's finest young pastors for a three-week, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Each class of Dallas GPA pastors sits under world-renowned Master Coaches, including presidents and deans of evangelical seminaries, who join Dr. Richard as GPA faculty each year.
Instruction focuses on three critical and basic needs of all pastoral ministries: biblical spirituality, theological discernment and effective preaching.
Pastors who are accepted to a Dallas GPA must meet stringent criteria, including a documented passion for training other pastors in their regions. Therefore, the reach of the training they receive at the Dallas GPA is extended.
The Dallas GPA is one training component of the decade-long Global Proclamation Commission, which seeks to perpetuate spiritual health worldwide.

The vision is sizable; the task is formidable, but this world is REACHABLE | October 4, 2013
Dear friends,
Please join us in praying for the Global Proclamation Commission, a 10-year human capital campaign to connect, unite and strengthen 100,000 pastors from 200 countries by the year 2020.
The GProCommission was launched in 2010 and seeks to address the needs of undertrained and isolated pastors, especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America. These pastors, more potent because of their participation in the Global Proclamation Commission, can create healthier churches with the aim of better carrying our the Lord's Great Commission.
The GProCommission is being executed through three types of training events: The annual Dallas Global Proclamation Academy, multiple national Global Proclamation Academies each year and, Lord willing, the 2016 Global Pastoral Trainers Congress in Manila, Philippines.
Please join us in praising God for the opportunities RREACH has had to hold Dallas GPAs and National GPAs in the last several years:
Also, praise God for the way He is using RREACH and our pastoral training model (both training pastors AND connecting them to one another).

Actually, to say the least, I've not seen a program that is so compressed—short days, but very impactful.
For those of us who are young pastors in ministry—we are confronted with a lot issues. Some of those issues have to do with being validated by older ministers. And to a large extent, orientation into ministry has to do with—you teach certain kinds of things; the gospel. But, coming to GPA, first of all, there is this stripping from old ideas that are not really relevant for kingdom work.
And then this remodeling after a pattern that is, to a large extent, proven to be very, very effective. Especially expository sermon presentation. To a large extent—to friendships made anew, to teaching that has come our way - very strategic teaching come our way. I am a better preacher to the little audience that God has made in my hands to nurture in the faith.
And please pray along with us for the following needs as we march toward 2016 (the Congress) and then 2020 (the completion of the campaign):
That pastors who attended national GPAs in 2011, 2012 and so far in 2013 would remain connected and united and would be multiplying their training toward the vision of the Global Proclamation Commission.
For teachable, humble hearts of pastors preparing to attend the following GPAs:
GPA South Africa - Mid-October
GPA Zambia- Mid-October
GPA Mexico- Mid-November
GPA Ghana- Late-November
For the planning and preparation for the following National GPAs scheduled for 2014:
Dominican Republic
Benin
Trinidad
Myanmar
Rwanda
Burundi
Togo
That God would open doors for National GPAs in the 13 additional countries considering hosting one in 2014.

Pray for the Global Pastoral Trainers Congress | September 27, 2013
Dear Friends,
A week ago, RREACH announced a large-scale congress aimed at improving the health of Christ’s Church worldwide by connecting, uniting and strengthening pastoral trainers. The announcement came on the first day of the North American Mission Leaders Conference 2013 (STAND) hosted by Missio Nexus in Dallas.
The Global Pastoral Trainers Congress is scheduled, Lord willing, for February 2016 in Manila, Philippines.
This strategic gathering will bring together up to 5,000 currently serving pastoral trainers as the means to strengthen the world’s pastors—and in turn their churches— in order to better fulfill God’s Great Commission. Those who attend can expect to Build Community, Expand Opportunity, Discover Resources and Receive Encouragement.
Please join RREACH in prayer as we seek God's very best for this important, first-of-its-kind gathering.
Specifically, pray:
That news would spread about the Global Pastoral Trainers Congress and potential delegates would begin to pray about their attendance in 2016.
For great communication between RREACH and the Philippine team as together they plan and prepare for the Congress.
For wisdom and efficiency for Dr. Jim Copeland, congress director, as he oversees the big and small details of the Congress.
For favor as Dr. Richard casts the vision of the Congress and the larger Global Proclamation Commission to potential partners.
For excellence in every detail of executing the Global Pastoral Trainers Congress.
For His glory,
Edie Ross

Requests from the pastors we serve | September 18, 2013
Dear Friends,
Please take a moment to pray over these situations, sent to us by pastors ministering in very difficult places. It has been Dr. Richard's great privilege to serve these pastors and others like them through Global Proclamation Academies or pastors conferences throughout the years. Names have been withheld for protection.
DR Congo pastor:
Aug. 30: "The security situation in and around Goma has worsened. We have cancelled our day of prayer because of the bombing going on in Goma. Pray for the protection of the town of Bunia, where a rebel movement is at war for the last week. We have the Ugandan army that has invaded the country in the North, 180 kms from Bunia. All of this is threatening security around us."
Sept. 18: "Thank you so very much for praying for us. I am well and my family too. We are busy. Of late I have been raising food to feed the displaced people because of the war 25 miles away from my town. I was able to raise seven tons of rice, 2.5 tons of beans and cooking oil to feed 2,500 people. Tremendous needs, keep praying."
Syrian pastor:
Aug. 27: "Last week was so hard on Damascus. More than 60 mortars fell on the city of which the majority fell on the Christian Quarter in Damascus after being sent by the Opposition gangs of Islamic Radical Groups.
On Thursday August 22, a mortar fell near my uncle (My mother's brother), an old man of 76 years. The Mortar fragments hit his legs and he was bleeding for 4 hours. After spending two days at the ER, uncle George passed away."
Sept. 5: "Maloula is a Syrian village located in the rocky mountains 60 km north of Damascus city. It is one of the only three villages in the whole world that its inhabitants - Christians & Moslems - live peacefully together and still speak Aramaic the language of Lord Jesus Christ.
On September 4, 2013 Maloula was attacked by opposition armed groups in order to put under their control. Its Ancient Churches, Monasteries, Christian heritage & people, all are threatened of being destroyed after being harmed by the attack.
We appeal to all sisters & brothers around the world to raise the awareness of the danger facing ancient heritage & people in Syria. Please try to do something to save it."
For His glory,
Edie Ross
prayer coordinator
P.S. RREACH recently was able to disburse funds to Syrian pastors through the Pastor's Family Care Fund to help with children's school fees and other needs. Please join us in praising God for the provision of these funds and the opportunity to minister to pastors serving in difficult areas.
